I purchased the Breville BJE200XL Juicer because of the many positive reviews I found by typing 'best juicer' in google. It can juice four carrots at once with ease. This juicer is everything they said it was - quiet, powerful, and easy to clean. It also has a wide mouth for larger items like apples and pears. I am very satisfied with my purchase - well worth the $100 I paid for it. Out of the three juicers I've owned in the last 15 years, this one outperforms the other two; of course it also cost about $50 more too.
That ruled out the Jack LaLanne model, since a tool was needed to loosen and tighten the blade each time you cleaned it, which made it a hassle. No pushing of the food was required, it just went into the cutter with almost no pressure at all, and sometimes the weight of the pusher was enough to juice the food. I took the display models apart to see what would be involved in cleaning the machines. I researched buying a juicer for a week. And besides that. Then broccoli, whole carrots, a whole apple, some grapes, and a tomato.
First I put fresh spinach in it and the spinach exploded into green juice which ran into the large cup that comes with the machine, in the blink of an eye.
This narrowed it down to 2 different Breville machines, and one was on sale for around $86, so that was the one I bought.
After I made the juice I took it apart in about a minute, rinsed it off and put the parts that need cleaning in the dishwasher.
It ended in a trip to two stores today where I got a chance to look at 3 different machines very carefully.
The internal filter is stainless steel which is only on the $150 Jack LaLanne machine, and it comes with a brush for cleaning the filter.
I brought it home, cleaned it and made some juice.
This juicer works great.
This machine is worth every penny , the motor is over 2X the power of the JLL machine, and it is easy to clean.
